Our tickets are booked today and that leaves me one month to prepare for our summer holiday. Breathe, breathe, breathe.
If that isn't pressure enough, the second week of June gives us a long weekend – meaning Little C needs a getaway before he starts summer camp. We decided on a hotel staycation and chose a resort two hour drive from home.
Like any family on travel, we do plan carefully ahead of our holiday. I have 20 items for our holiday shopping list and I tried crossing some of them today. It's funny because when I visited the supermarket and the department store this morning, fellow mothers were also very busy and hurriedly checking their summer shopping list. Floaters, swim wear, sunscreen, sandbox toys, boxes of travel games, snacks, beach towels, kaftan, kiddie sunglasses, – everything you need under the sun and everything children wants to have a smooth free airplane ride. Fortunately, maybe they have cash register express installed on the computers that even if every person in line has their carts loaded, the line moved swiftly.
The city is boiling to 45 degrees Celsius and everyone else wants to go out. Oh I can't wait!
