i'm
totally on a
handmade/homemade/recycled/adorable toy binge right now. seriously.
we bought eden a second-hand wooden kitchen for her 2nd birthday this last year and wanted to find some cute toy-food to go with it. the only problem is that it is difficult to find a food set that is "vegan" - let alone one that is not made of plastic!
i had spent about $2 on a few pieces of felt for our
homemade holiday ornaments. it came to my attention that i could easily use those scraps to make some homemade produce for E's kitchen! so i did :)
i had been so hesitant to try it, but after "pinning" 30 different ways to make homemade food toys i finally gave in and decided to blow off any specific way of making them. i just threw some fabric together and stitched it up. sure, it's not fancy... but eden looooooves them!
so i can't tell you how i made them or give you a pattern. my advice would be to just take some fabric, slap some stuffing in it, and start sewing. the more homemade it looks, the cuter. and kids aren't picky. adults only pretend kids are picky.
