At Home with Mrs M!: Orchard Toys Where's My Cupcake

You'll know from past posts that I'm a fan of Orchard Toys fabulous educational games. Not only am I a fan but my two children are too, so much that I'm just glad I am building up a fair collection these days and am not forced to play Shopping List endlessly.

Orchard Toys asked me if I wanted to try out their newest game - Where's My Cupcake? and of course I said yes.

Where's My Cupcake is a matching game aimed at 3-7 year olds so perfect for my children aged 5 and 6.  The aim of the game is to see how many cupcakes you can match and collect however the game also introduces a sharing element as other players offer you a cupcake if they don't need it.

Both my son and daughter enjoyed playing this game, my son is a natural sharer who enjoyed offering up the cupcakes and my daughter, who is all about the pretty, loved the designs on the cards. I'll be honest, so did I!

This game, like the others before it, have educational elements which in the case of Where's My Cupcake are that it encourages observation, matching and counting skills and develops social communication, sharing, co-operation and manners. I volunteer in the reception class at school and I think once we've finished with this game in a year or two I shall be donating it to them. We already use some Orchard Toys in school and I think this would be the perfect game to encourage co-operation amongst some of the little children.

Like all Orchard Toys games that I have played previously, it's fabulous quality and made of robust thick card and from my experience, even after dozens of play, they remain in rather good nick.

We loved Where's My Cupcake and I suspect it will get a whole lot of use in our house for a long time to come!

Where's My Cupcake is available now and retails at £7.50. You can buy it direct from the Orchard Toys website and there's free delivery if you spend over £15.00.

With thanks to Orchard Toys for providing this game to review.
